Add Leading Zero's to Zip Codes in Excel

Posted on 05:51 by Unknown

Two methods to pad zip codes with 0's when they are less than 5 digits:

This changes the value of the cell:

1. =TEXT(A1,"00000")

This doesn't change the value of the cell but simply displays the number with the leading zeros:

2. Within the cell (or highlight the column) select Format > Format Cells, Number, Custom, 0000#

Easiest & Free way to Rip a DVD to iPad, iPhone

Posted on 23:00 by Unknown
Fantastic and easy instructions per MacWorld.com:

How to rip a DVD with HandBrake

"Looking to liberate the movies in your DVD collection from the confines of their plastic-and-metal prison so you can enjoy them on your iPhone, iPod, iPad, and Apple TV? Well look no further—all you need is some free software and to follow a few steps."

Basically this is what you'll do:

  1. Install HandBrake (free software) and VLC Media Player (also free software).

  2. Put your DVD in the DVD drive and in HandBrake select it ("Source").

  3. Select your device on the right:

    • iPad

    • iPod

    • iPhone

    • iPod Touch

    • AppleTV

    • Android

  4. I like to "Preview" (you can do that via the Preview button on the same toolbar where you selected "Source").

  5. If looks good, select "Start" and let it rip!

Now you can watch it on your computer. You'll need to then sync your iPad with your computer in order to view the movie on the iPad. Note to watch any movie on your iPad, select the Video app (NOT the iTunes app!)

Chrome Print Selection not Working

Posted on 23:56 by Unknown
If you are instead getting these words: "copy" "search Google for..." "inspect element" you will need to do this until Chrome gets that working again:

CTRL+SHIFT+P - The print screen dialog box will pop-up and you can select "Selection"

(or this works too: Click the Chrome wrench in the upper right corner, select Print, then at the bottom select "Print using system dialog..." and you can select "Selection" there too.)

Nespresso DeLonghi Espresso Machine - How to Clean

Posted on 13:37 by Unknown
First, I LOVE this machine!!! Low maintenance, and a fresh cup every time. No need to buy a bag of beans that will never be fresh after opening for that first cup. And, it looks cool too.

Cleaning instruction after frothing (click through the imageto enlarge, or simply read the text underneath the snapshot):

  1. Place a container under the milk spout.

  2. Press and hold the CLEAN button (its's on top of the frother) until machine stops pumping automatically. Milk recipe buttons blink: rinsing process approximately 10 seconds. Steady light: rinsing process finished.

  3. Disconnect the frothing unit from the machine and place in the refridgerator. Close the steam connector door on the machine. (Note: This milk should not be kept for more than 2 days).

  4. All the milk container components are dishwasherproof. Wash them 2X a week.
